What our customers say

“Our patients actually *want* to wear the mask now.”

  • Improves Patient Comfort

Since using TenderTouch tape on thermoplastic masks, we’ve seen improved patient comfort and better reproducibility. We retake images if measurements fall outside an acceptable range. Previously, we observed movement between scans, but this has not occurred since using the tape. We prefer it over paper or silk tape due to its perforated design, which conforms better around corners and enhances comfort.

  • Cushions Pressure Points

We don’t cut a lot of masks, but the doctor really liked it and thought it was something good to have on hand. A lot softer and easier to work with. The pressure point application is a good idea. We have some IMRT patients that we will try it on because their treatment is a little longer.

  • Improves Patient Comfort During Cyberknife Treatments

These head and neck masks include eye holes so patients can watch movies during longer treatments. TenderTouch cushions and covers the rough edges of the eye openings on thermoplastic masks to improve comfort. It is also quick and easy to apply.

  • Cushions and Protects Irritated Areas Under the Mask

A therapist treated an elderly whole-brain patient with abrasions on the scalp and used large strips of TenderTouch inside the mask to prevent further irritation. The patient tolerated treatment well. In another case, TenderTouch was also used to cushion a forehead ulceration inside the mask.

  • Improves Patient Comfort During Thermoplastic Breast Fixation

When treating women with large pendulous breasts, immobilization is critical for accurate dose delivery to the tumor area. However, the thermoplastic edges can dig into the skin and cause irritation and discomfort due to breast size. The amount of TenderTouch used varies by patient, but we typically use about 10” on the top edge and 10” on the bottom edge.
